Installation comprising sculptures reimagining chimeric statuary from precolonial burial mound and a two-channel video exploring the ecologies of the U.S-Mexico borderland and the Korean Demilitarized Zone. Sculpture depict the twelve Eastern zodiac animals, each engraved with borderland ecological imagery, including trees, rivers, and mountains, and the five elements (earth, fire, water, wood, metal). Sculptures encircle a two-channel video projection, presenting live footage of the Korean Demilitarized Zone, produced in collaboration the DMZ Ecology Research Institute, and archival material from the US.Mexico-borderland. Text is layered throughout with eco-spiritual meditations on the histories of the local communities.
