Dream of a Willow Tree is a folklore written during the height of Covid-19.
The folklore references Samguk Yusa, a text written in 13th-Century CE recounting Korea’s premodern history through layered mythological prose. Appropriating the language of the older text, Dream of a Willow Tree explores contemporary issues of unprecedented natural disasters, class systems, violence, and race.

In collaboration with New York based illustrator, Harim Choi
